OUR STORY

In 1960, Plaza 20 Incorporated was established by a group of local businessmen. Marvin J. Kahle joined the group in 1963 and in 1978 he became the sole shareholder.  Today Plaza 20 Inc. is owned and operated by second generation Kahle family members. The Plaza is comprised of approximately 67 acres of land and a 200,000 square foot shopping center. 

The shopping center is located on Highway 20/Dodge Street in Dubuque, Iowa. The DOT estimates car traffic at the location to be approximately 37,000 cars daily. The center sits on the major East/West artery of the Dubuque Tri-State area which spans three states, Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. Population of the greater Dubuque area is approximately 95,000 (www.greaterdubuque.org) and within a 30 mile radius the population is 177,000. 

The shopping center anchor tenants include Slumberland Furniture, JOANN Fabrics & Crafts, Harbor Freight Tools, Salon Centric, Cost Cutters, Dunkin Donut and the VA Outpatient Clinic in addition to many other commercial tenants (see Store Directory). The center is conveniently located in the heart of the Dubuque Tri-State area, a thriving business community and award winning city (http://www.cityofdubuque.org).
